Are you Emotional Eating?
As a young child, I was skinny. As I grew older I found myself always having problems with my weight, I was Emotional Eating. The doctors didn’t call it that years ago but that is what it was.
As I grew into adulthood I found that my weight continued to go up and down, if I was overwhelmed or stressed I would snack on anything that I could find.
Now that I am older I have found that emotional eating goes right along with taking better care of yourself.
Dr. Melissa McCreery in her article “25 Simple Ways to Take Better Care of Yourself — Instead of Emotional Eating” says this, “When you are busy or overwhelmed, it can be a challenge to squeeze in quality self-care and way too easy to resort to emotional eating instead.”
I have found that even though it is harder to lose weight as you get older, I do not just reach for another bag of chips every time I am overwhelmed or busy.
Dr. McCreery goes on in her article to list ways to take better care of yourself. Such as:
- Learn to say no with ease and grace.
- Make an effort to get outside every day.
- Stop and stretch once an hour.
- Drink your water.

It may not be easy, because it has never been for me but I know it is important. Taking better care of YOU is so important and shows love to your family along with providing a sense of peace.
